Grounded in the practices of successful teachers and schools, the Relay MAT combines dynamic online and in-person learning with unmatched opportunities to apply new strategies. During this two-year master’s degree and state certification program*, you will gain the practical skills needed to support PK-12 student learning, while joining a cohort of outstanding peers and accelerating your career.
The Relay Teaching Residency is a two-year master’s degree program for talented, mission-driven people eager to launch a social justice career in teaching. Through the Residency, you earn a salary, master’s degree, certification, mentorship, and a diverse network of peers.

Advising
Relay practices a culturally responsive advisement model, getting to know each graduate student as an individuals. Academic advisors work one-on-one with advisees to apply, enroll, make programming decisions and navigate the NY state certification process. Advisors also work closely with school based mentors & support clinical supervision.
Support for Teachers of Color
Relay GSE highly values diversity and creates a cohort experience that is built around equity and inclusivity. Relay’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Team designs and facilitates ongoing discussions and professional development sessions for faculty & staff. Additionally, the DEI Team works to review and revise all graduate coursework and curriculum through a DEI lens, including our focus on culturally responsive pedagogy. Relay also actively works to create a pipeline of diverse teacher candidates, with more that 60% of the graduate student body self-identifying as people of color.
